Izzy Ashburn is a Wisconsin Volleyball Team player who was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She played on the varsity volleyball team all four years of high school and was captain her senior year. Ashburn led her team to a conference championship and was named first-team all-conference.
Ashburn then went on to play volleyball at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She was a three-time letterwinner and helped lead the Badgers to two NCAA tournament appearances. After graduation, Ashburn played professionally in Europe for two seasons before returning to the United States to join the Wisconsin Volleyball Team coaching staff.
Izzy Ashburn started playing volleyball when she was just eight years old. She played on her school’s team all through middle and high school, and was even captain her senior year. When it came time to choosing a college, Ashburn knew she wanted to continue playing volleyball at the Division I level. She ultimately chose the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she is now a junior outside hitter/right side hitter on the Badgers’ volleyball team.
Ashburn has been a key player for the Badgers ever since she stepped foot on campus. As a freshman, she appeared in 33 matches and helped lead the team to a Big Ten Conference championship. Her sophomore year was even more successful, as she started all 34 matches and led the team to an appearance in the NCAA Final Four. This past season, her junior year, Ashburn again started every match and led the Badgers back to the NCAA Final Four. She was also named First Team All-Big Ten for her outstanding play.
There is no doubt that Izzy Ashburn is one of the best volleyball players in the country. She has proven time and time again that she has what it takes to compete at the highest level. With two more years of eligibility remaining, there is no telling how far she will help lead the Badgers in their quest for an NCAA title.
Izzy Ashburn is a senior at Wisconsin and has been playing volleyball since she was in seventh grade. She is a setter and right-side hitter on the Badgers volleyball team. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, going to the beach, and playing video games.
Ashburn grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and started playing volleyball in seventh grade. She played club volleyball for Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club and was a four-year starter on her high school varsity team. As a senior, she helped lead her team to a state championship.
In college, Ashburn has continued to excel as a volleyball player. She was named Big Ten Setter of the Year as a sophomore and led the Badgers to the NCAA tournament that year. As a junior, she again led the team in assists and helped them make it back to the NCAA tournament. This season, her senior year, she is once again leading the team in assists and is helping them fight for another conference title.
Ashburn is an excellent student as well as athlete; she was named Academic All-Big Ten all three years of eligibility so far. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in either coaching or sports medicine.
Wisconsin Volleyball Team
Izzy Ashburn is a senior on the Wisconsin Volleyball team. She is from Mequon, WI and attended Homestead High School. Izzy has been playing volleyball since she was in eighth grade and played club volleyball for Milwaukee Stingray Volleyball Club.
Izzy is a setter for the Badgers and has played in all 27 matches this season. She ranks second on the team with 546 assists and her 4.03 assists per set average is good for fifth in the Big Ten Conference. Izzy also has 98 digs, 23 kills, and eight service aces on the year.
In her four years at Wisconsin, Izzy has played in 111 matches and made 99 starts. She has totaled 2,144 assists, 722 digs, 201 kills, and 56 service aces. Her career assist total ranks ninth in program history while her 4.27 career assists per set average is seventh all-time at UW.
Izzy was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team in 2016 after leading the Badgers with 819 assists (5.57 per set). She was also named honorable mention All-Big Ten as a sophomore after ranking second on the team with 1,018 assists (6.39 per set).
The Wisconsin volleyball team is one of the best in the country. They have been to the Final Four four times, winning three national championships. Their most recent championship was in 2013.

What are Izzy’s Goals?
In high school, Izzy Ashburn was a dedicated volleyball player with big dreams of playing the sport in college. When she started her college career at the University of Wisconsin, she had one goal in mind: to help her team make it to the NCAA tournament. After four years of working hard and giving it her all on the court, Izzy finally achieved her goal when the Badgers made it to the tournament in 2018.
While she is no longer playing volleyball competitively, Izzy continues to stay involved in the sport as a coach and camp counselor. She is also pursuing a degree in sports management so that she can continue to work in the volleyball world even after she graduates from college.
Izzy Ashburn is a setter for the University of Wisconsin volleyball team. In her freshman year, she was named the Big Ten Conference Freshman of the Year. She was also a member of the U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team that won a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The Future of Izzy’s Volleyball Career

This past season, Ashburn again led her team to the NCAA Championship game but this time they were able to win it all, defeating Baylor in four sets. This made Ashburn only the second player in NCAA history to win a national championship as a setter. Her future looks bright and she will definitely be one to watch in the years to come.
Izzy Ashburn’s future in volleyball is looking very bright. She has been playing the sport since she was a young girl and has developed into an excellent player. She has played on some of the best club teams in the country and has been a stand-out player on her high school team.
Now that she is heading to college, she will have the opportunity to play at an even higher level. She has already committed to playing for the University of Wisconsin volleyball team. This is a very prestigious program that has produced many great players.
